Why trades matter — and why you matter

Our economy runs on strong hands, smart minds, and real-world skills. We need curious, creative, capable young people to step into the trades — whether that’s welding, HVAC, construction, automotive tech, fabrication, electrical, machining, machining robotics, and more. At WeTech, we help you see what’s possible, try it out, and imagine where you could go.

  • Any company, nonprofit, or individual interested in supporting girls in STEM! We welcome sponsors from all industries who want to make a real difference.


  • Your sponsorship funds hands-on activities, materials, and transportation—everything that makes WeTech a memorable, empowering day students.

  • Sponsors are featured on event materials, signage, website, social media, and at the event itself. You can also engage directly with students through workshops or mentorship opportunities.

  • Absolutely! Sponsor a Tech Challenge, provide materials for workshops, cover bus transportation for schools, or support TechZone. We can tailor your sponsorship to match your goals.

  • Yes! Women Innovators is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and all donations and sponsorships are tax-deductible.

  • Absolutely. We’ll prep you with orientation, guides, and ongoing support so you feel confident stepping into your role.

Students & Parents FAQ

  • WeTech is designed for high school students, all genders and identities are welcome.

  • Yes! Thanks to our sponsors and donors, attendance is completely free for all students.

  • Students participate in hands-on workshops and attend panels that cover trades and technical education paths.

  • Not at all!WeTech is for all skill levels. The event is meant to educate students on the many career paths within the trades.

  • WeTech is hosted on a local college campus. Exact dates and registration details are posted on the event page each year.

  • Yes! Parents can support the event by volunteering in workshops, helping with TechZone, or assisting with registration and logistics.

  • Registration opens on the WeTech event page. Spaces are limited, so we encourage signing up early!

Volunteers FAQ

  • Anyone passionate about empowering students! No prior experience is needed—just enthusiasm and a willingness to mentor or support students.

  • Not at all. We provide orientation and guidance so you feel confident mentoring students, even if it’s your first time.

  • You can volunteer for a single event, a few workshops, or ongoing programs. We’ll help you find a role that fits your schedule.

  • Some prep and mentorship roles are virtual, but most workshops and event roles require in-person participation in Idaho.

  • Complete the Volunteer Interest Form, and we’ll match you with a role that fits your skills and availability.

  • Roles include mentoring in the Tech Challenge, facilitating workshops, staffing TechZone, assisting behind the scenes at events, and administrative tasks from home.
